Frequently asked questions

Which EU funds are open now, in 2026?

We are tracking 155 open or announced programmes, of which 99 have a call window open now. On each county and locality page you see only what applies there: the regional programme, county and LAG (GAL) calls, programmes for town halls by rank, and national ones.

Who manages EU funds in Romania?

The Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) coordinates the cohesion funds and the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) and is the managing authority for the national programmes (PoCIDIF, PEO, PIDS, Health, PDDTJ, Technical Assistance). Regional programmes are managed by the eight regional development agencies, while agricultural funds and LEADER go through AFIR (Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments) and LAGs (GAL).

What is a LAG (GAL) and why does your locality matter?

Local Action Groups (246 selected for 2023–2027) have their own LEADER budgets for the localities in their territory. A LAG (GAL) call is open only to companies, farmers and town halls in those localities — which is why the locality pages show the LAG (GAL) and its calls.
