Frequently asked questions
What EU funds are available for the extractive industry in 2026?
We are tracking 3 open or announced programmes whose CAEN list includes activities in section B: North-East Regional Programme 2021-2027 — Investments for the modernisation of micro-enterprises, Call 2 (PR/NE/2026/P1/RSO1.3/2/1); PRO INFRA — raw materials, materials and products for transport infrastructure; Regional Participation Fund (FPR) — BID loans with a 40% grant for SMEs in the North-East, South-East and Bucharest-Ilfov. In addition, 16 programmes are open to any sector.
Which CAEN codes fall under section B?
Section B ("Mining and quarrying") covers CAEN divisions 05, 06, 07, 08, 09. The guides give the eligible list by class (4 digits), so your company's exact code matters.
How many active companies are there in the extractive industry?
1,986 active companies have their main CAEN code in section B; 1,260 had employees in their latest financial statements and 68 were established in the last two years.
Does it matter whether the CAEN code is primary or secondary?
It depends on the guide: some programmes require the funded activity to be the main code, while others accept a secondary code authorised at the investment location. Companies now hold codes under CAEN revision 2 or 3; the lists here include the equivalences between the two revisions.
Do you run a company in the extractive industry?
We check your company's CAEN codes against the lists of open programmes and tell you where you fit — free of charge, before any contract.
