Frequently asked questions
Can productive investment projects for SMEs still be submitted under the North-West Regional Programme?
No, not under line 131. The last calls have closed: 131.E on 30 April 2026 at 10:00, and 131.H on 15 July 2026 at 10:00. The calendar revised on 26 August 2026 provides for no further 131 calls in 2026.
Can an SME submit a funding application directly under call 131.E?
No. Under 131.E the only eligible applicant was the fund manager selected through a tender (Fortech Ventures B.V.). SMEs can receive equity or quasi-equity investments, combined with grants, directly from the venture capital fund it manages.
What conditions must an SME meet to receive investments from the 131.E fund?
At the date of the investment, the SME must have its registered office or a secondary office/place of business in the North-West Region, registered with the Trade Register (ONRC). The funded activity must be carried out in the region throughout the duration of the investment.
What was the budget of call 131.E?
23,529,411.80 euro: 20,000,000 euro from the ERDF and 3,529,411.80 euro national co-financing.
Is there another call currently open for companies in the North-West?
Yes. Call 961, for projects in STEP areas (strategic technologies), accepts applications from 28 August 2026, 10:00 to 12 October 2026, 10:00. Companies established under Law 31/1990, from micro-enterprises to large enterprises, can apply if they have at least one closed fiscal year.
How long does it take to prepare the application?
It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.
What happens if I do not qualify?
We tell you before any contract is signed, and if another suitable programme exists, we point you to it.
