SMEs (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) investing in the ITI Valea Jiului micro-region (Petroșani, Vulcan, Lupeni, Petrila, Aninoasa, Uricani) or in Mureș county, with an average of at least 1 employee in the financial year preceding the opening of the call

Frequently asked questions
Can SME projects still be submitted under Just Transition Valea Jiului and Mureș?
No. The relaunched call was open from 1 November 2025, 11:00, to 28 February 2026, 23:30, in MySMIS2021/SMIS2021+. The Ministry of Investments and European Projects lists it as closed and has not announced a new call window.
How much non-refundable funding could be obtained per project?
Between the lei equivalent of EUR 300,000 and EUR 5,000,000 for projects in the ITI Valea Jiului micro-region, and between EUR 300,000 and EUR 8,000,000 for projects in Mureș county.
What was the budget of the relaunched call?
The official MIPE page states EUR 41,562,594.71 in total (EU funds and state budget). Around EUR 14.8 million was allocated to the ITI Valea Jiului micro-region.
Who could apply?
Micro-enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises with the investment in the ITI Valea Jiului micro-region (Petroșani, Vulcan, Lupeni, Petrila, Aninoasa, Uricani) or in Mureș county, with an average of at least 1 employee in the financial year preceding the opening of the call. Each applicant (by CUI) could submit only one funding application.
How long could a project last?
According to ADR Vest, a maximum of 12 months for projects involving only equipment purchases and a maximum of 24 months for projects with construction works.
What minimum score had to be achieved at evaluation?
The quality threshold is 50 points and the excellence threshold is 75 points. Projects that reach the excellence threshold can go straight to contracting, within the call budget.
How long does it take to prepare the application?
It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.
What happens if I do not qualify?
We tell you before any contract is signed, and if another suitable programme exists, we point you to it.
