Who can apply

Only local public authorities (communes) in the GAL territory can apply: Rediu, Valea Lupului, Românești, Movileni, Gropnița, Șipote, Plugari, Vlădeni (Iași) and Prăjeni (Botoșani). Companies cannot apply. The investment must be on the public domain of the UAT, within the GAL territory. Territory of GAL Regiunea Rediu - Prăjeni (only these localities): Rediu, Valea Lupului, Românești, Movileni, Gropnița, Șipote, Plugari, Vlădeni, Prăjeni.

Submission runs from 13.11.2026, 09:00, to 12.12.2026, 23:59, online at www.afir.ro.

How much can you obtain for a project?

Maximum €98,677 per project, with an intensity of 100% of eligible costs. The same amount is the allocation for the entire call window.

Can the energy produced be sold, or can you become a prosumer?

No. Investments in producing energy for sale are ineligible. The energy is for own consumption only, with exclusively off-grid solutions.

What is the minimum selection threshold?

The minimum threshold is 20 points. The maximum score on the grid is 100: installed capacity 30, population served 35, implementation period 35.

How long does it take to prepare the application?

It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.

What happens if I do not qualify?

We tell you before any contract is signed, and if another suitable programme exists, we point you to it.

The Ministry of Energy is funding new stand-alone batteries with EUR 150 million from the Modernisation Fund, for companies with CAEN code 35. Aid of up to 100%, max. EUR 69,000/MWh and EUR 15 million per company. The submission period in MySMIS2021 was extended on 22 October 2026.

Non-refundable state aid of 262 million euro from the Modernisation Fund for electric charging stations for fleets and the public, with photovoltaics and storage. It is awarded through competitive tenders. The scheme has been approved, but the call has not yet been launched.
