Micro-enterprises, SMEs and large enterprises, including autonomous public undertakings and companies, lawfully established and registered with the ONRC in Romania by the time of the first payment. Newly established undertakings and undertakings in difficulty are excluded.

What does the e-MOVE RO programme fund?
e-MOVE RO funds the construction, installation, upgrading or extension of charging stations for electric vehicles, for the company's own fleet and/or accessible to the public. It can also include on-site renewable energy production (for example photovoltaic), energy storage, connection to the electricity grid and installation costs. The money comes from the Modernisation Fund.
What is the e-MOVE RO budget?
Following the update of the scheme by OMTI 755/2026, the total e-MOVE RO budget is €262 million in non-refundable funding from the Modernisation Fund. The money is allocated through several successive competitive bidding procedures until the budget is exhausted.
How much can a company receive through e-MOVE RO?
The state aid requested cannot exceed €25 million per undertaking, cumulated across all competitive auction rounds. One project can be submitted for each location. Selection is competitive, based on the amount of funding requested relative to installed capacity (euro/kW).
Who can apply for e-MOVE RO?
Micro-enterprises, SMEs and large enterprises, including autonomous public undertakings and companies, registered with the ONRC in Romania by the date of the first payment at the latest, can apply. Newly established undertakings, undertakings in difficulty, and those in insolvency, bankruptcy or liquidation cannot apply.
When can projects be submitted for e-MOVE RO?
As of 27 September 2026, the e-MOVE RO call had not been launched. The scheme was amended in August and September 2026 (OMTI 755/2026 and OMTI 821/2026), and on 17 September 2026 the ministry published the comments received in the public consultation. The submission period will be announced by the Ministry of Transport on fonduri.mt.ro.
Where can stations funded through e-MOVE RO be located?
Stations must be in Romania, but not on motorways, expressways or main national roads managed by CNAIR, nor less than 3 km by road from a TEN-T exit. Projects must be completed by 30 June 2030 at the latest.
How long does it take to prepare the application?
It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.
What happens if I do not qualify?
