PR South-East 5.2 — primary and lower secondary school infrastructure (call PRSE/5.2/1/2026)
Call PRSE/5.2/1/2026 has €40 million for building, extending and equipping primary and lower secondary schools in Brăila, Buzău, Constanța, Galați and Vrancea, excluding the ITI Danube Delta area. Town halls, their institutions and state schools can receive up to €2 million per project.

Who can apply
Local public administration authorities (town halls, county councils), local public administration institutions and state primary and lower secondary schools. You can apply alone or in partnership with one another, including with inter-community development associations or with entities working in social inclusion. The call covers the South-East Region excluding the Danube Delta ITI area, in both urban and rural areas.

Frequently asked questions
Who can apply to the PR South-East 5.2 call for schools?
Town halls, county councils, local public administration institutions and state primary and lower secondary schools in Brăila, Buzău, Constanța, Galați and Vrancea can apply. You can submit alone or in partnership, including with inter-community development associations or social inclusion entities. Companies cannot apply.
Can a commune in the Danube Delta ITI area apply?
Not under this call, which excludes the Danube Delta ITI area. Schools in the ITI area have a separate call, PRSE/5.2/ITI/1/2026, with its own budget and rules.
How much can a school project receive under PR South-East 5.2?
Up to €2,000,000 in non-refundable funding, an amount that includes VAT. The applicant's own contribution and any minimum threshold should be checked in the applicant's guide of 30 May 2026.
Are kindergartens or high schools also funded?
No. The call covers only primary education (preparatory class and grades I–IV) and lower secondary education (grades V–VIII). For kindergartens, PR South-East has separate calls under Action 5.1.
Does the order in which I submit my project matter?
No. The call is competitive, with a deadline: all projects submitted in MySMIS2021 by 30 December 2026, 14:00, are evaluated and ranked. Funding goes to projects scoring at least 70 points, within the limits of the budget.
Can I include a sports hall in the project?
Yes. Developing physical education facilities, including sports fields and halls, is an eligible ERDF activity, alongside the construction, extension and equipping of the school and adaptation for people with disabilities.
How long does it take to prepare the application?
It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.
What happens if I do not qualify?
We tell you before any contract is signed, and if another suitable programme exists, we point you to it.
