Medical genetics and rare diseases: deadline extended to 16 November for €21.7 million Programme sheet · Call window open Health Programme — infrastructure of regional medical genetics centres and rare disease centres (PS/652, PS/653) Deadline: 16 November 2026

The Managing Authority for the Health Programme has published Corrigendum No. 3 to the calls guide for the public infrastructure of regional medical genetics centres and rare disease expertise centres. The corrigendum extends submission until 16 November 2026, 17:00. The previous deadline was 30 October 2026, 14:30. The two calls, PS/652 and PS/653, have a combined 21,725,121.07 euro, awarded as grants only. Along with the extension, Annex 10, the compliance grid for the technical execution design, has also been updated.

In brief

  • Programme: Health Programme 2021–2027, Priority 3, RSO4.5 – investments in the public infrastructure of regional medical genetics centres and rare disease expertise centres
  • Authority: Ministry of Investments and European Projects – Managing Authority for the Health Programme
  • Calls: PS/652/PS_P3/OP4/RSO4.5/PS_P3_RSO4.5_A7 and PS/653/PS_P3/OP4/RSO4.5/PS_P3_RSO4.5_A7
  • Total budget: 21,725,121.07 euro for both calls, grants only
  • Submission period: 30 June 2026, 17:00 – 16 November 2026, 17:00, in MySMIS2021+
  • What has changed: extended deadline (previously 30 October, 14:30) and updated Annex 10
  • Status: open, competitive calls with a deadline

What has changed under Corrigendum No 3?

There are two changes:

  • the deadline: the official text states that "the project submission period is extended until 16.11.2026, 17:00". Applicants thus gain 17 days;
  • Annex 10: the "Compliance analysis grid for the technical execution design (PTE)" has been updated, that is, the document against which the submitted technical design is checked.

The announcement mentions no budget changes. This is the second extension: Corrigendum No. 2 of 27 August 2026 had already moved the closing date to 30 October, while Corrigendum No. 1 was published on 24 July 2026.

Who can apply and what is funded?

The calls fund the public infrastructure of regional medical genetics centres and rare disease expertise centres. Eligible applicants are set out in the eligibility conditions in the guide; the calls page does not detail them. The calls are competitive, and support is awarded exclusively as a grant. The full list of eligible applicants, eligible costs and per-project ceilings is in the Applicant's Guide on the MIPE calls page. For programme details, see also the programme page on our website.

How and by when do you apply?

Submission is made in MySMIS2021+, by 16 November 2026, 17:00, when the system closes. If your project is almost ready, you should re-read the technical execution design against the updated Annex 10. The new grid is the one now used to check PTE compliance.

What this means for your hospital

Our recommendation:

  • Use the time for the PTE, not for delay. The extension comes with a modified compliance grid, so the authority will look closely at the technical design. Go through the grid point by point, together with your designer.
  • Check the version of the annexes. If you have already completed annexes using the old version, replace them with the version from Corrigendum No. 3.
  • Keep resolutions and approvals up to date. The resolutions approving the project and the technical and economic indicators must reflect the final budget, and a change to the PTE may require them to be updated.
  • Do not count on a third extension. Extensions are not guaranteed. Treat 16 November as a firm deadline and submit a few days beforehand.

If you want an initial check, use the eligibility check.
