The total budget is €35 million: €20 million for climate resilience solutions (04-03), €5 million for climate projections and data (04-08) and €10 million for monitoring solar radiation modification (04-11). One project is funded under each topic.
Can a company from Romania receive up to €800,000?
Yes, but not directly from the Commission. The winning consortium of topic 04-03 must pass on at least 80% of the funds, as grants of up to €800,000, to at least 25 private for-profit companies from Member States or associated countries, with TRL 7 solutions. The calls for companies are launched within the first 12 months of the project.
Which sectors does the support for companies cover?
Water, food and agriculture, transport, energy, health, civil security and critical infrastructure. Nature-based solutions receive special attention. The support covers consultancy, business development, innovation acceleration, market preparation and pilot projects.
Who can apply directly to the Commission?
Consortia of organisations (companies, universities, research institutes, authorities and other entities) from EU Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe, as set out in Annex B of the work programme. If the project uses satellite Earth observation, it must use Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS.
How long does it take to prepare the application?
It depends on the complexity of the project and the documents you already have. The first step is the eligibility analysis, which tells you what needs to be prepared.
What happens if I do not qualify?
We tell you before any contract is signed, and if another suitable programme exists, we point you to it.
