Who can apply
Independent European audiovisual production companies established in a country participating in Creative Europe MEDIA. Romania participates, as an EU member state. You can only apply as a consortium of at least two production companies that have signed a co-development agreement describing the division of tasks and the collaboration on the creative side.

What is the deadline for applying to European co-development 2027?
The CREA-MEDIA-2027-CODEV call has been open since 30 September 2026. The submission deadline is 2 March 2027, 17:00 Brussels time. Applications are submitted through the European Commission's Funding & Tenders portal.
How much can a co-development project receive?
The grant is a lump sum. A consortium of two beneficiaries can receive up to 120,000 €, and each additional beneficiary adds up to 60,000 €. For TV series with an estimated production budget of at least 20 million €, the ceiling is 200,000 € for two beneficiaries, plus 100,000 € for each additional beneficiary.
Can a Romanian production company apply on its own?
No. The project must be developed jointly by at least two independent European production companies that have signed a co-development agreement. The agreement must describe the division of tasks and the collaboration on the creative side.
What types of projects are eligible?
The development of a single animation, creative documentary or fiction project is eligible. The project must be intended for commercial exploitation in cinemas, on television or on digital platforms, or in a multi-platform environment.
What is the total budget of the call?
The budget allocated to the European co-development call for 2027 is 12,500,000 €. The call is managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
When will the results be known?
According to the indicative timetable published by the Commission, evaluation takes place in March–July 2027. Applicants are informed in August 2027, and funding contracts are signed in November 2027.
