Generous funding for the table grape production sector
The Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments (AFIR) has launched the consultation version of the applicant's guide for the DR-17 funding scheme, dedicated to investments in the hops and table grape sectors, with an allocation of 45 million euro for the table grape component. This intervention is part of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plan 2023–2027 and aims to support the modernisation and expansion of production capacity in this field.
Who can access the funds and for what types of investments?
The financial support is intended for entrepreneurs, farmers and organisations involved in table grape production that wish to invest in:
- purchasing and installing modern machinery for growing and harvesting grapes;
- modernising vineyards and irrigation systems;
- expanding the areas planted with competitive varieties;
- implementing technologies that increase productivity and the quality of production;
- building or modernising infrastructure related to agricultural activity.
Public consultation – an important stage for applicants
The applicant's guide has been put out for public consultation for a period of 10 calendar days, during which proposals and comments can be submitted to clarify and improve the documentation. This stage gives potential beneficiaries the opportunity to better understand the conditions of access and the eligibility criteria.
Essential steps for accessing DR-17 funds
- 1. Study the consultation guide provided by AFIR to learn the requirements and priorities of the DR-17 scheme.
- 2. Prepare a clear and feasible investment plan that meets the funding criteria and demonstrates the benefits of the investment.
- 3. Gather the necessary documents for the application file, including the company's legal documents and the permits specific to agricultural activities.
- 4. Send your proposals and comments during the consultation period, if you have suggestions or questions about the guide.
- 5. Submit the funding application within the set deadline, after the public consultation has ended and the guide has been approved.
Expected impact of the funding
Investments made through the DR-17 programme will help increase the competitiveness of Romanian producers on the domestic and international markets, boosting the quality and quantity of table grape production. Modernising the technologies used will also reduce production costs and support the sustainable development of the sector.
Entrepreneurs working in this field now have a real opportunity to access significant EU funds, which can transform agricultural businesses and add value through efficient and innovative production.
